Salam alaikum! So recently, I heard that my cousin who lives in Finland has gone over the edge. Last week, they read Quran over her because she's become out of control. Recently I heard she's missing and hasn't been home in days. I was wondering if it was hard being a Muslim teenager in Finland? Like is it easy to be influenced by your peers? JazakhaAllah khair and I was just curious. Btw, I really adore your blog and you and Khaled are soo cute together mashaAllah. xo

@nasrina

Wa alaykom salam sis !

Oh I’m sorry to hear that :( I will (and hopelly if anyone else reads this they will too) make a prayer for your cousin to return home safe and sound !

I wasn’t a muslims when I was living my teenage years but I can say that you surely are influenced by many things in this country. Kids start drinking around 13 years old and you know, nothing good ever comes with that. It’s easy to give in to the peer pressure. Finnish culture teaches us to be very independent and grow fast. As in for your question if it’s hard to be a muslim teenager in this country, I can only imagine how hard it must be. We don’t have large muslim communities or a lot of Islamic events here so it’s easy to loose yourself. I mean it’s still hard for me to keep on a right track then let alone if you are  a young, slightly rebellious, girl.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Finland, but it’s a tuff plaec for a young muslim (although I can’t speak for everyone) to grow in.

Oh gosh and thank you for the compliments :3 <3

lots of love xx
